BaleMath is operated by Valentijn Destellirer (contact.balemath@gmail.com). By using the site you agree to these terms; if you do not agree, please do not use it. That is the whole contract — there is no account to create and nothing to sign.
Planning estimates — not veterinary or nutritional advice
Every number a BaleMath calculator produces is a planning estimate. The formulas come from published university extension figures and industry standards, applied to the inputs you provide — but hay quality, body condition, climate, workload, pregnancy, growth, illness, and a dozen other factors change what an individual animal actually needs. Nothing on this site is veterinary, nutritional, or other professional advice, and using a calculator creates no professional relationship with anyone.
Before changing what or how much you feed an animal — especially one that is sick, pregnant, growing, or working hard — confirm the plan with a veterinarian or a qualified livestock nutritionist. If a BaleMath estimate and your vet's advice disagree, follow your vet.
Accuracy and availability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We build the math from published sources, cite them on each calculator, and test the formulas, but we do not warrant that any result is error-free, current, or fit for your particular purpose — extension publications get revised, and regional conditions vary. We may change, suspend, or remove any tool at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for losses arising from use of this site or reliance on its estimates — including hay shortfalls, overbuying, storage losses, or animal health outcomes. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as liability for intent, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you use BaleMath as a consumer, your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
Advertising and affiliate links
No advertising or affiliate program is active at launch. If that changes, the affiliate disclosure will record what is active, and the calculator's own output must justify any affiliate link. Products and sites we link to belong to their sellers; we are not a party to any purchase you make from them.
Using the site
You may use the calculators for any personal or commercial planning purpose, and you may link to or share any page freely. You may not republish the calculators or articles wholesale, remove disclaimers or source citations from copied material, misrepresent modified output as ours, or use the site in a way designed to disrupt it.
Intellectual property
The site's content, design, and code are © BaleMath. The extension publications and standards we cite belong to their publishers, credited on each calculator. The numbers a calculator produces from your inputs are yours to use however you like.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the new version is posted here with a new date below, and applies from that date onward. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, with the courts of the Netherlands having jurisdiction. If you use the site as a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence still apply to you.
